The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has ordered all of its members to cease operations in Niger State due to current gasoline scarcity and price increases across the country.
Following a quarrel between the officer and the station’s manager, a fuel attendant was slain by Nigerian Air Force soldiers on Monday at the AY Ashafa filling station.

The association’s head, Adama Erena, commented on the situation, saying that the shutdown is intended to send a message of sadness to the authorities rather than to cause inconvenience to the public.
The unjust killing of the boy, according to Adama Erena, must not be pushed under the rug because justice must be done.
He went on to say that the victim had done nothing wrong to the NAF officer and that his family should be compensated for the heinous deed.
HE SAID: “THE SHUTDOWN IS NOT TO SUFFER THE MASSES BUT TO PASS THE MESSAGE OF OUR SADNESS ACROSS TO THE AUTHORITIES.
“THERE IS NO WAY WE CAN LET THIS GO JUST LIKE THAT, JUSTICE MUST TAKE PLACE. THE BOY DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG TO THEM AND HIS FAMILY MUST BE COMPENSATED FOR THIS WICKEDNESS”
