In southern Vietnam, about 12 people lost their lives and 40 others were seriously injured in a fire outbreak at a karaoke bar.
According to the official Vietnam News Agency, the fire broke out on Tuesday night, September 6, at the bar in Binh Duong province, an industrial production hub near Ho Chi Minh City.
As quoted in the report by an eyewitness identified as Quynh, She said, ” When the fire broke out, I was so panicked and ran for safety and can’t remember how it happened.”
On Wednesday, September 7, prime minister Pham Minh Chinh instructed the Ministry of Public Security and provincial authorities to look into the cause of the fire.
Chinh also instructed towns and provinces across the Southeast Asian country to step safety measures at facilities prone to fire, including at karaoke bars.
However, three firefighters lost their lives in the fire at another karaoke bar in Hanoi last month.
