2023: I will increase electricity production by 200% – Peter Obi

The presidential aspirant for the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has vowed to double Nigeria’s current output of megawatts if elected.

Additionally,  the transmission and distribution will be increased by 200% according to the ex-governor of Anambra State.

This statement was made by Obi in Toronto, Canada, where he communicated with some Nigerians about his aspiration for the 2023 presidential election.

According to him, he said, “We wish to lay exceptional accentuation on important infrastructures, especially Power, to ensure a lucid measurable rise of today’s generation, transmission & distribution by 200% within the shortest possible time, through a public-private partnership.”

“We will chase intangible assets of good governance, rule of law, security of lives and properties, through an aggressive increase in personnel and equipment, and inclusive training of operatives in our security agencies he added.

“We will grimly hunt human capital development in the education and health sectors with available resources while attempting to initiate best global practices.

“In modifying the economy, we wish to make it more lucrative, thus creating jobs and prosperity for millions of youths, abating poverty in the land, and addressing issues of criminality and insecurity.

“We will accentuate patriotism, national interest, national morale, quality of governance, political will, and character as complementary to others. We will ensure that we have these assets in place and stress asset optimization” he included.
