Biography
Gyakie is the stage name of Jacqueline Acheampong, who was born on December 16, 1998.
She is a 23-year-old Ghanaian singer and composer who specializes in Afro-fusion music.
She rose to prominence after releasing the smash tune “Never Like This.”
Early Life
Gyakie was born in the Kumasi town of Bompso in 1998. She is originally from Abuakwa, a town in Kumasi.
Ernest Owoahene Nana Acheampong, a Ghanaian music icon, is her father. Her father was a member of the well-known band the Lumba Brothers.
Gyakie had exhibited early signals that she will follow in her father’s footsteps as a musician. Because she had a really resonant voice when she was younger.
She was a member of her church’s choir and one of its main singers. In Kumasi, Gyakie finished her basic schooling.
At the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, she earned a bachelor’s degree in international business.
Personal Life
Gyakie is a 23-year-old woman. She is not presently engaged, married, or dating anybody. She drives a great vehicle and lives in a decent apartment in Accra.
She has been to Nigeria on multiple occasions and intends to work with Nigerian musicians soon.
Career
2019 saw Gyakie’s professional debut in Ghana’s music sector. Her first song is called Love Is Pretty. For many weeks, the song generated buzz on local radio and TV stations.
In August 2020, she launched her SEED debut EP. Five tracks make up the EP, which featured Gyakie experimenting with various sounds.
On her track, Sor Mi Mu, from 2020, she collaborated with prominent musician Bisa Kdei. Elom “E.L” Adablah and Kuvie are two further artists with whom she has collaborated.
After releasing the number-one song “Never Like This,” she became a household name.
She’s played at important events in Ghana over the last two years, including Rapperholic, Tidal Rave, and Repu Hall Week, among others.
Currently, Flip, The Music Entertainment is in charge of her management.
She has been highlighted in the One Tribe Magazine from Nigeria and Red Bull South Africa. She has appeared as a guest on BBC’s Focus On Africa.
On well-known music streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music, Audio Mack, Boomplay, and YouTube, her EP has had a total of eleven million listens.
