Early Life

The state of Lagos has been Boy Spyce’s home his entire life. He spent his childhood in Isolo, a well-known neighborhood located on the mainland of Lagos, and his family home was in the Jakande Estate.

On May 10, 2001, he was welcomed into the world by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ugbekile, and given the name David Ugbekile Osemeke.

Boy Spyce was born and raised in the state of Edo in the South-South region of the United States. He is the eighth child in a family of eight. He is the youngest of his five siblings and the family’s only remaining child.

Boy Spyce began his career as a musician at a young age. While he was growing up, the sounds of Afrobeats and Hip-Hop created by Nigerian artists had a significant impact on him. Because of the songs he heard on the radio, he developed an appreciation for music and became curious about the possibility of making a living in that field.

Because of this, he began writing songs whenever he had some spare time, and he later performed those songs in front of his classmates, who praised his talent. When he was in the fifth grade, he wrote the first song that he ever composed. Boy Spyce participated in many different music competitions while he was a student in secondary school. As a result of his efforts, his school was awarded a number of trophies.
