The extended play consists of a total of five tracks, which are titled Dreams, Wayo, Destiny, Nobody, and Bad Things respectively. At the moment, Boy Spyce is the project that is being streamed the most in Nigeria.

Early Life

The state of Lagos has been Boy Spyce’s home his entire life. He spent his childhood in Isolo, a well-known neighborhood located on the mainland of Lagos, and his family home was in the Jakande Estate.

On May 10, 2001, he was welcomed into the world by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ugbekile, and given the name David Ugbekile Osemeke.

Boy Spyce was born and raised in the state of Edo in the South-South region of the United States. He is the eighth child in a family of eight. He is the youngest of his five siblings and the family’s only remaining child.

Boy Spyce began his career as a musician at a young age. While he was growing up, the sounds of Afrobeats and Hip-Hop created by Nigerian artists had a significant impact on him. Because of the songs he heard on the radio, he developed an appreciation for music and became curious about the possibility of making a living in that field.

Because of this, he began writing songs whenever he had some spare time, and he later performed those songs in front of his classmates, who praised his talent. When he was in the fifth grade, he wrote the first song that he ever composed. Boy Spyce participated in many different music competitions while he was a student in secondary school. As a result of his efforts, his school was awarded a number of trophies.

In Isolo, Boy Spyce had his elementary school education at a highly regarded and prestigious private nursery and primary school.

His secondary schooling took place at Lagos Model College in Kankon, Badagry, and he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. His performance on the West African Certificate Examination (WASC) was satisfactory, and he graduated from the educational facility in 2017.

At one of the most famous educational institutions in the nation, he is presently working toward earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Boy Spyce started performing cover versions of well-known songs and uploading them on the internet in order to launch his career as a recording artist. Because he maintained this practice, he gained a significant following on social media, where users eagerly anticipated his cover songs. There were other instances when videos of Boy Spyce singing went viral on social media, which contributed to his skill getting further exposure.

Weather For Two is the name of Boy Spyce’s first song as a solo artist, and it was released in 2019.

On the 29th of July 2019, Boy Spyce released their rendition of “Brown Skin Girl,” which was originally performed by Beyoncé, Wizkid, Blue Ivy Carter, and SAINt JHN. On March 30, 2021, he released a cover version of the song “Jowo” originally performed by Davido. He had already recorded and produced the cover version. On April 19, 2021, he made available for download a cover version of Gyakie’s song “Forever.” On March 24, 2021, he also performed a rendition of the song “Essence” by Wizkid and Tems, which quickly became quite popular on the internet.

Don Jazzy, CEO of Mavin Records, was impressed with Boy Spyce’s musical abilities and took note of them. The music entrepreneur made the decision to act as a mentor to the young musician and extended an invitation for him to enroll in Mavin Academy. Don Jazzy was able to develop his sound and his songwriting ability by working with Boy Spyce after he enrolled in the school and began working with him. During this time period, the singer started recording the songs that would later be included in his extended play.

After attending the school for a number of months, Mavin Records extended an offer of a recording contract, and he subsequently became a member of the Mavin family. On April 14th, 2022, the musician Boy Spyce was shown to the public for the first time by his record company. Soon after the internet broke the news of his signing with the label, he issued his first extended play (EP), as is customary for the company to do with new artists it signs.

As with the other members of the Mavin Family, his first EP is a self-titled record. This is yet another Mavin Family tradition. Other members of the label, including Rema, Ruger, Ayra Starr, and Magixx, had all issued their first EPs under their own names.

The signing of Boy Spyce comes many months after Mavin Records announced that Magixx will be the label’s newest talent. As a result, Boy Spyce is the second artist in the space of half a year to be signed by the record company.

The duration of the Boy Spyce EP in its entirety is fourteen minutes. Dreams, Wayo, Destiny, Nobody, and Bad Things are some of the songs that can be found on the record. On April 15, 2022, the music video for the song “Nobody” was made available to the public. TG Omori, a renowned music video director, was responsible for both the filming and direction of the clip.
