Chukwuka Ekweani birthed on  July 16, 1995, and known on stage as ckay, was birthed and raised in Kaduna, a state in the north-western region of Nigeria where he resides with his family, but hails from Anambra State in the South-East region of the country.

Early Life

Ckay was birthed into a family of Ekweani, who are of Igbo descent. he was given the name Chukwuka, which means ‘God is Great‘ in English. ckay is an indigene of the Anambra state but was born and raised in the Kaduna state.

The Ekweanis were devout Christians despite the fact that their home was in the city of Kaduna. The entire family made it a point to routinely attend worship services at their community church, where many members were actively involved. The esteemed post of Choir Conductor was previously held by Ckay’s father, who was also a member of the choir.

Ckay Yo, who is now 27 years old, was first exposed to music by his father, who was a choir leader when he was only seven years old.

Ckay was given a contract with the record label after the merger of Loopy Music and Chocolate City Music, which resulted in M.I. assuming the role of chief executive officer. After being hired by Chocolate City Music Label, he took on the role of official in-house producer.

Since that time, he has created songs for a wide variety of artists, including Ice Prince, MI Abaga, Jesse Jagz, Victoria Kimani, Dice Ailes, DJ Lambo, Koker, Blaqbonez, and Barry Jhay, amongst many others.

He contributed to the ‘TICBN Vol 1’ project, which was Chocolate City’s first album endeavor.

The record company offered him a contract as a recording artist on November 3rd, 2016, and he accepted it. After that, he came out with an extended play titled “Who the Fuck Is Ckay.” Additionally, he has made available additional tunes.

The most recent one is titled “Container Don Land,” and it features a native rapper by the name of Zlatan Ibile as well as an artiste from South Africa by the name of Moonchild Sanelly.
