Nnamdi Kanu, the arrested leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, disclosed on Friday that opponents of the fight for a Biafra republic were already banding together to put an end to it, and asked his legal team to stay firm and not be sidetracked.
After the legal team visited Kanu at the Department of State Services, DSS, detention facility in Abuja last Thursday, Kanu made this declaration to newsmen in Owerri through the IPOB’s chief attorney, Ifeanyi Ejiofor.
The enemy was unhappy, according to the IPOB leader, since they saw the struggle ending in victory for the IPOB.
“The court-ordered regular visit to our indefatigable Client – Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was observed yesterday, 3rd March 2022,” an IPOB lawyer said. After days of grandstanding that stretched into weeks, we were allowed to meet with our client, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Onyendu was in good spirits yesterday, demonstrating his unwavering/unafraid determination.
“During the past three meetings, Onyendu took the time to explain why he was protesting the lack of access to his counsel. He was very upset by those instances, especially when they were carried out in brazen disrespect and defiance of existing court orders.

“We recognized Onyendu’s dissatisfaction and took advantage of the opportunity to inform him of the steps we have made so far to guarantee that such a heinous tragedy does not occur again.” Onyendu took advantage of the occasion to give me advice and words of support. He took his time to admonish me to be steadfast and focused, not to be sidetracked by the enemy’s diabolical schemes to break me.
“Onyendu did really see tomorrow!” Unbeknownst to him, the slanderers were rapidly putting up another stunt, which was, however, dead on arrival, at the same time he was giving these words of encouragement and encomium.”
“In particular, Onyendu pushed me to be strong and even stronger in the days ahead. He warned me that there would be more defamation in the future, but that he and UmuChineke would always be there for me.
“We all agreed that this is a key era because success is staring us in the face, and any opportunity to be distracted will set us back since the adversaries are unified in their purpose, but their nefarious machinations are all surmountable,” an IPOB lawyer stated.
