Gen Irabor – We are conquering Security Problems.

General Leo Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff, expressed happiness on Saturday that tranquility is progressively returning to different sections of the nation that were previously afflicted by various security difficulties.

The CDS announced this during the International Military Sports Council’s “CISM Day Run” in 2022, which was organized by Defence Headquarters, DHQ, in partnership with the International Military Sports Council (CISM).

“This year should be a turn around, a turning point in resolving all of the security difficulties facing our nation,” Irabor added. And we will never again experience the kind of instability that has afflicted our country.

The event’s theme, “Running for International Peace,” is appropriate, according to the CDS, especially at a time when several world governments are at odds with one another, as well as the country’s general insecurity.

“If there is a time when the world requires peace, it is now,” he said. We can all see the growing tensions around the world, as well as the various security challenges we face in our own country.

“That is why, thanks to the efforts of security agencies and paramilitary organizations, peace is gradually returning to parts of Nigeria that have been troubled for a long time.”

While emphasizing the importance of physical fitness in helping troops stay mentally alert and agile, the CDS urged participants to make physical activity a daily habit in order to stay in shape as they face security threats.

He praised the event’s organizers and thanked Nigerians for their unwavering support for the Armed Forces and other security agencies in their efforts to combat insecurity.

While thanking the hundreds of people who turned out for the walk and jog, the Director of Sports at Defence Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Paul Masiyer, credited the event’s success to the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen LEO Irabor’s inspirational leadership and determination.

The CISM Day Run, he said, is intended to strengthen the Armed Forces’ and security agencies’ existing bonds and esprit-de-corps.

Officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces, as well as their counterparts from sister security agencies, participated in the ‘Day Run.’

The 5-kilometer walk/jog is being held in honor of CISM’s global anniversary in 2022.
