
DSP Bright Edafe, spokesman for the Delta State Police Command, has responded to the controversy that surrounded a viral video of musician Iyanya throwing a fan off stage while playing his famous song ‘One Side’ in Awka, Anambra state.
Iyanya offered his story of what transpired after the video sparked heated debate. The musician claims he was triggered by a fan who kept smacking his face with money.

He posted on Twitter;
“The guy kept slapping my face with the money and I tried to hold his hand and he continued. First, no matter how much you are spraying, don’t slap someone with it, that’s disrespectful.”

In response to the viral video, a police spokeswoman said that Iyanya might be arrested if the victim files an official case.
He posted on Twitter;
“Normally, if that guy makes an official report, @Iyanya can be arrested for this. I come in peace. If you all can’t see his offense there, then I understand why it’s very difficult to Police this country”
