As of Monday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reported that new registration in the third quarter of the current Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) nationally had reached 5,027,204.

The registrants had completed both online and physical registration, according to INEC’s weekly briefing on CVR for Quarter 3, Week 2 in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to the most recent figures, there were 1,292,823 men and 1,270,245 females, with 24,129 people living with disabilities (PWDS).

It said that 1,054,501 people registered online and 1,508,567 people registered in person.

164,695 craftsmen, 473,494 businesspeople, 98,324 civil servants, and 31,273 public servants were among the registrants who had finished their registration, according to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN).

250,763 were farmers or fishermen, 255,242 were housewives, 167,916 were dealers, and 989,166 were students, according to the commission, while 132,195 were unspecified.

According to NAN, INEC received a total of 8,260,076 applications in the third quarter.

Among the applications are requests for voter transfer, replacement of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and voter information record updates, among others.

According to INEC, there are 4,416,828 men, 3,843,248 females, and 84,319 PWDS across all categories of applicants.
