King Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan Marshall, popularly known as K1 de Ultimate, the Mayegun of Yorubaland, has lost his father, the late Mefu of Igan, Otunba Samson Aremu Rufai, to death.
The adopted father of the singer Otunba S. A. Rufai (JP), who was a well-known community leader in Ago-Iwoye, died at the age of 84.
Otunba Rufai died in the early hours of Wednesday, January 26th, 2022, following a brief battle with an unnamed disease, according to sources.
Otunba Rufai reigned for 43 years as Mefu of Igan Quarter, one of Ago-eight Iwoye’s Quarters.
Many monumental accomplishments occurred at the time when late Otunba Samson took the role of Mefu of Igan Quarter in 1979.
Many children survived Mefu of Igan Quarter, notably Otunba Sesan Rufai, the Chief Executive Officer of Goldmyne TV and Limelite Hotels.
