A video has gone viral on social media in which a Nigerian lady screams out after a phony N1000 printed note she received from a POS seller nearly landed her in jail on Lagos Island.
After raising the alarm in the popular video, the lady claims that when she entered Lagos, she chose to use the POS, then she found a POS vendor, a lady at the market, and took N50,000 from her.
When she arrived at the market to buy food, the market lady, while calculating the money she handed her, placed the N1000 fresh notes on one side and informed her that they were false.
The market woman started insulting the lady in response, but the lady wasn’t having it and they got into a furious confrontation.
Moreover, the lady said that the market vendor confirmed to her that the N1000 note was a fake by pressing one of her fingers on the gold portion of the pattern on the note and that the shielding had begun, as this wouldn’t occur on an authentic N1000 note.
Remember that a short time after the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, published the redesigned naira notes in the denominations of N200, N500, and N1,000, fraudulent copies of the new N1000 naira notes were released into the market and started to circulate in significant quantities.

The lady also advised Nigerians to always run their hands over the gold portion of the new N1000 note to see if it was fake or not so they could quickly return it to the POS seller.
Due to her ignorance of the false letter, she acknowledged that God had saved her yesterday at the Lagos Island market. She also attributed the woman working at the POS to God for getting her land into trouble by giving her a fake $1,000 bill.
