Adelabu Alexander Adewunmi was born on 27 September 1999, known on stage as Magixx, and was born and raised in Ogba town Lagos state where he lives with his parents, but hails from Ekiti State in the south-western parts of Nigeria.
Magixx was birthed to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander. His parents instilled in him a profound reverence for his elders and his culture, which he gained from being raised in a Christian household with Yoruba roots.
He was brought up in the mainland region of Lagos, and the town of Ogba was his home for the majority of his formative years.
When he was a young boy, he was attracted to music and would frequently spend hours listening to songs from a variety of genres, including pop, hip-hop, reggae, and highlife music.
Magixx made the decision to experiment with music after being inspired by musicians such as Fela Kuti, 2baba, D’banj, and Shina Peters. He began writing music lyrics in the privacy of his own bedroom as a result of this decision.
After some time had passed, he transitioned from merely writing songs to performing them in front of an audience at local school competitions and community carnivals.
As a result of the encouraging feedback he was getting from his audience at the time, he became determined to pursue music as his full-time occupation.
Magixx comes from a family that places a strong emphasis on receiving a good education. Because of this, his parents made sure to put him in prestigious private schools throughout his elementary and secondary education.
He received his West African School Certificate with high marks after completing his senior year of high school.
Following the completion of his O-Levels, he was successful in gaining entry into the University of Lagos in order to pursue a degree in Mass Communications.
After completing his studies at the institution for a period of four years, he received his diploma.
During his time as a student at UNILAG, Magixx participated often in the many musical events that took place on campus, including going to parties, performances, and concerts. When it came to music, he never missed an opportunity to show off his creative side during these gatherings. Because of this, he became well-known in the entertainment world at Unilag, which aided him in developing a dedicated following that was however modest in size.
In April of this year (2019), he gave a rendition of Burna Boy’s popular song Dangote by recording it and posting it on his Instagram profile. The video quickly gained more than 35,000 views on the internet when it became popular there. In addition to that, it is common knowledge that he has previously published freestyle renditions of well-known songs.
On September 3, 2021, he made available a cover version of the song titled “Sinner.” Like his other cover songs, the video spread like wildfire on Instagram, gaining over 43,000 views. The original music was sung by Adekunle Gold.

Magixx, who had been training as a student under Mavin Academy for months, released his debut project, Magixx EP, the same day news of his signing was announced.
