Siyabonga Ndlozi, a 25-year-old man from South Africa, was found guilty of murdering his fiancée on Friday, November 11, and was given a life sentence.
Ndlozi got a five-year sentence for domestic abuse at the Delmas high court in Mpumalanga, where he was also convicted of murder and the violation of a protective order.
Captain Gibi Mtsweni, the police department’s official spokesman, said in a report that Ndlozi and the 21-year-old deceased, Silindokuhle Nkonde, had been in a toxic relationship.
The victim was given the protective order she had requested.
The incident in question took place on March 14, 2022, when the victim informed the defendant that she had terminated their pregnancy.
As his anger grew, Ndlozi raged at the victim, telling her that they should both die and join their kid in hell since she had murdered their child.
Ndlozi reportedly took a rope from the main house, beat the woman until she passed out, and then hung her from the roof.
The accused had previously attempted to hang himself with the same rope before being rescued by his loved ones.
On the spot, Silindokuhle Nkonde was pronounced dead.
It was successfully objected that Ndlozi is released on bond, therefore he remained in detention until sentencing.
Even though it won’t bring her daughter back, the mother, Sithembile Masilela, is satisfied with the sentencing.
She appreciated Detective O.J. Hadebe’s efforts to ensure that Ndlozi was brought to justice.
