Debo Adedayo, also known as Mr. Macaroni, a prominent rights activist and skit maker, has taken a jab at Nigerian politicians over the protracted strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

He charged the leaders with being indifferent since their children do not attend the public colleges, which have been on strike for months.
On Tuesday, Macaroni expressed his opinion on Twitter, accusing Nigerian authorities of being insensitive to the plight of students/parents and the demands of academics.
Students at the nation’s public institutions have been out of school for nearly three months due to the ongoing ASUU strike.
Despite several meetings and conversations, it looks like there is no end in sight since both parties have yet to reach an agreement.
The striking lecturers have stated that they would not return to class unless the government satisfies their demands, and the federal government has also implemented the ‘no work, no pay’ clause.

Mr. Macaroni, in a tweet in response to the present standoff, claimed Nigerian officials can’t empathize with the agony caused by the strike because their own children attend school overseas.
He wrote:
“Students in Nigeria are out of school! Our Leaders cannot relate to the pain and sadness that this brings to Parents who simply want good Education for their children. Our Leaders can’t relate because their own children school in The U.S.A, U.K, or some other fancy school abroad.”
