Dayo Akingbade, a commercial motorcycle rider, has asked a judge to enable him to divorce his wife due to recurrent adultery.

The guy requested that a Mapo Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo state, allow his wife’s case for divorce.

His wife, Dapo, has previously accused him of being reckless. She filed the lawsuit, claiming that she was no longer willing to live as his wife.

”He never paid any bride price for my hand in marriage,” she said.

But in a counterclaim, he accused his wife of being a serial adulterer.

“My lord, the actual reason Dapo left my house is due of her adulterous conduct,” he added.

“After a series of complaints about the fact that she was bringing different men to my house, Dapo’s mother assisted her to move her things out of my apartment.

“My total daily income is N3,000 as an Okada rider, so I might not be able to afford N30,000 monthly feeding allowance for the children.

“Besides, I have remarried since she left my home over a year ago’’.

Mrs. S.M. Akintayo, the court’s President, delivered the decision, holding that there was no marriage to be dissolved between the petitioner and the respondent due to the lack of legal prerequisites of a customary marriage.
