Biography

Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking and having been born on May 27, 1990, is a well-known reggae and dancehall singer and composer from Nigeria.

His beginnings in the music industry were spent working on underground projects with artists like as XProject, Konga, Slam, and Reggie Rockstone. In 2010, he released “Up in D Club” under the imprint of K-Igberaga Solo’s Records, with whom he had secured a record contract the previous year.

After working with Timaya on the song “Alubarika,” which was released by Dem Mama Records, Patoranking was given the opportunity to become one of the label’s protégés. In February of 2014, he got a record contract with Foston Musik and released “Girlie O,” a track that propelled him into the public eye. Both of these events brought him to the forefront of attention. He collaborated with Tiwa Savage on the remix of Girlie O.

Patoranking made the announcement that he has inked a distribution agreement with VP Records on February 9, 2015, through the social media platform Instagram. On September 28, he published a song under the title Abule. This song was one of many that he released before the release of his album, which was expected to take place later in the year 2020.

Career

Patoranking came out with a new track in May 2012 called “Iya Bisi,” which included Qdot and Kbaj as guest artists. The song was created by Drumphase, and it is a combination of dancehall and fuji. According to what he said to Entertainment Express, Qdot and Kbaj contributed to the composition of the track by exchanging ideas.

On September 12, 2013, he simultaneously released the audio recording and the music video for the song “Alubarika.” Timaya provides the vocals for the song, which is called “God’s Blessings” and is a direct translation of the title.

AJE Films was the company that was responsible for filming the “Alubarika” music video, which was 4 minutes and 16 seconds long. On May 19, 2014, Foston Musik released the “Girlie O” (Remix) single, which included Tiwa Savage as a guest artist. The track received positive reviews. It made its debut on the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 chart at position number nine. Tiwa Savage said to Ehiz of MTV Base that she is a fan of Patoranking’s music and made the decision to contact him in order to collaborate on the remix. Moe Musa was responsible for both the filming and directing of the music video for “Girlie O” (Remix), which took place in London.
