A 33-year-old man has been apprehended by the police force over the killing of rapper Takeoff.
Thursday night, Dec. 1, the Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said Patrick Xavier Clark the 33-year-old was taken to custody calmly.
Clark’s apprehend came a day after another man was charged in connection with the Nov. 1 shooting, which police said: “followed a dispute over a dice game and wounded two other people”.
Takeoff was an “innocent bystander” when he was hit by gunfire outside a Houston bowling alley in November”, he also added.
Clark is now kept in lockup Friday, Dec. 2, awaiting a hearing.
During a Friday news press Police Sgt. Michael Burrow said that the gunfire followed an argument over a “lucrative” game of dice, but Takeoff was not engaged and was “an innocent bystander.”
Burrow said, Everyone at the incident left without talking to the police.
According to Burrow, the police spokesperson said
“Some of those people have since been located by the authorities, who have also worked to piece together events with ballistics, video, and audio recordings”.
He also noted that investigators are still trying to track down witnesses
“We will be looking to find you,” he stated. “It will be easier if you come to find us.”
On Wednesday, Nov. 30, police proclaimed the capture of Cameron Joshua in association with the shooting. Joshua was charged with unlawfully having a gun at the time rapper Takeoff was shot, but prosecutors said the 22-year-old is not believed to have fired the gun.
Christopher Downey, Joshua’s lawyer, told pressmen that he has not seen anything to propose that his client was engaged in Takeoff’s shouting.
Burrow said that investigators believe it was Clark’s gunfire that killed the rapper.
