According to his sister, Tamara Powell via Instagram R&B singer Jesse Powell has passed away. The R&B artist who was from Indiana kicked the bucket at his Los Angeles home.
Powell’s sister Tamara wrote in a heartbreaking Instagram post:
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and uncle Jesse Powell. He passed away peacefully in his Los Angeles home,” the statement said.
“The family asks for privacy at this time as we mourn the tremendous loss and celebrate his everlasting legacy. Jesse loved music and he especially loved his fans who supported him throughout his career. We want you all to know that you meant the world to him.”
As it stands now, there isn’t any information on the exact date of his death or the cause of his death .
The American R&B artist Jesse died at the age of 51.
In the 1990s, Jesse was among the artists who helped contemporary R&B get a mainstream recognition.
He became popular on R&B after signing with Silas/MCA in the mid-’90s and unleashing his self-titled debut album. The album featured the lead single “All I Need”.
In 1998, his sophomore album “‘Bout It” was uncaged and became his most famous release as the project raised dust. Together with the hit track “You”, “I Wasn’t with It” was also another big single with the record.
Before vanishing from the limelight, Jesse unveiled two more albums afterward.
