Temilade Openiyi, better known by his stage name Tems, is a musician from Nigeria who is active in the fields of songwriting and record production. On June 11, 1995, she was born in Lagos to a mother from Nigeria and a father from the United Kingdom.

Tems claims that music is her safe haven and the one and only thing that can make her feel at ease in her own skin. Therefore, it was to be expected that she would pursue music.

However, it was her follow-up single, “Try Me,” that did the trick and garnered her millions of followers almost immediately. Try Me was the song that worked the magic.
