Get New DJ Mixes

Lockdown got us watching every TV series there is on Netflix, HBO, CW, ABC, and every other
network. Now, we’re taking a different approach when it comes to deciding what to binge on this
time—music. Why not revisit or watch a series for the first time that is famous for its soulful
soundtrack among other attributes? After all, there isn’t a single person who doesn’t recognize
the Friends theme song.

For movies or TV shows, the soundtrack could make or break how a viewer feels about the
performance. Acting, camerawork, and editing are all vital, but even the finest scenes may fall
flat if there isn't decent music playing in the background. Let these tunes be your
https://22bet.ng/mobile/ soundtrack—they just might be your lucky playlists.

1. Euphoria

Any time you scroll on TikTok, you’ll find at least 10 out of 15 clips using music featured on
Euphoria. And we totally get it—the critically acclaimed show is snatching awards left and right
and it’s pretty popular among Gen Zs and millennials. Record producer Labrinth composed the
music for Euphoria. The English singer, and songwriter disclosed that our adolescence is semi-
magical, but also semi-crazy and semi-psychotic, which is exactly what he wanted to reflect.
Besides awe-inspiring melodies by Labrinth, you’ll hear a lot of indie rock, hip-hop,
experimental, and R& B tracks.

2. Big Little Lies

Striking panoramas of the rugged Big Sur, the iconic Bixby Creek Bridge, and blonde bombshell
Reese Witherspoon cruising on Highway 1 as Michael Kiwanuka’s “Cold Little Heart” plays in
the background—Big Little Lies’ opening title leaves quite an impression on first-time watchers.
It didn’t take long for David E. Kelley’s creation to become one of the most streamed playlists
on Spotify. Big Little Lies features a number of tracks by Leon Bridges, Sade, Charles Bradley,
and more. The occasional Elvis elevates a scene, an Otis Redding tune creates a certain
ambiance, and Frank Ocean brings a contemporary twist to modern problems.

3. Strangers Things

Stranger Things brings together three of our favorite things: horror, sci-fi, and 80s culture. The
best part about this combination is that its soundtrack perfectly reflects that fusion. Kyle Dixon
and Michael Stein of the electronic band Survive wrote the Stranger Things original soundtracks.
The duo makes considerable use of synthesizers in tribute to 1980s musicians and film
composers—a little bit of Giorgio Moroder here, a touch of John Carpenter there, views get the
ultimate 80s experience with Tangerine Dream, Goblin, Fabio Frizzi, and Jean-Michel Jarre.

4. Lucifer

Is it the smoldering eyes of the devil himself, or is it his undeniable vocal talents that makes
Lucifer a Netflix show we keep watching over and over again? Whatever it is, it’s exactly what
we desire—get it? The (morning)star of the show, Tom Ellis, dazzles viewers time and time
again with jaw-dropping and spine-chilling music performances. Covering Chris Isaak’s
“Wicked Game”, The Police’s “Every Breath You Take”, and Queen’s “Another One Bites The
Dust”, Ellis proves his charms go way past his acting. What’s more? Neil Gaiman—author of
The Sandman, which Lucifer is based on—is a major fan of David Bowie; you’ll hear a familiar
song or two in a couple of episodes.

5. This Is Us

We’re going to say it upfront: every single episode of This Is Us has made us cry. With every
used napkin comes a tear-jerking scene that’s made significantly more heartbreaking with a
poignant song. The likes of Nine Simone, Sufjan Stevens, The Rolling Stones, and Lizzo
contribute to making us cry into a pillow. All tracks are available on Spotify if you ever feel like
letting it all out. And what’s even better is that the songs are divided by season. Keeping in mind
that there are 6 total seasons, you’ll have a lot of catching up to do.

6. The Vampire Diaries

We all started with the Twilight movies and graduated with The Vampire Diaries series—we do
grow up so fast! And the fact that Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley are all
outstanding actors makes each and every scene even more nerve-racking. With every soul-
crushing break-up scene is an equally melancholic song that ends up being addictive. The tracks
on the series brilliantly complemented the actions and feelings of the show's protagonists. The
compelling drama included tunes by OneRepublic, The Fray, Green Day, MGMT, Jet, Gabriella
Cilmi, and more.

7. Westworld

Ramin Djawadi is pure excellence. The score composer has a long list of accomplishments that
are hair-raising, to say the least. Among his achievements include writing original music for
Westworld, a dystopian sci-fi show that combines elements of neo-Western. The primary theme
incorporates bass notes along with light arpeggios and melody—all of which support the
dystopian concept of the Westworld amusement park. There are several renditions of popular hits
featured as well, including piano covers of “No Surprises” by Radiohead, “Black Hole Sun” by
Soundgarden, and “Back to Black” by Amy Winehouse.

9. Supernatural

Two brothers hunting demons for eternity—and doing it rock and roll style. Supernatural
features all our favorite classic rock, heavy metal, and rock ballads. Although conventional
acoustic instruments such as guitars and cellos are employed at times, Supernatural has synthetic
symphonic music as well. In certain episodes, unique instruments have been used such as”
bluesy gospel music” played on a damaged piano. The series has two composers: Christopher
Lennertz and Jay Gruska, which is pretty uncommon for a television show. Every other episode
is scored by a different composer, giving them more time to create other compositions, which are
generally around 30 minutes long per episode.

10. Game of Thrones

Perhaps the most talked-about show of the 2010s, Game of Thrones set a new precedent for
fantasy drama series. Also composed by Ramin Djawadi, the Game of Thrones soundtrack is
mostly non-diegetic and instrumental, with a few vocal performances thrown in for good
measure. The music is designed to complement the show’s characters and stories musically.
Some of the theme songs of Game of Thrones have evolved with every season—Daenerys
Targaryen’s, for example, was basic at first, but as the seasons progressed, it got increasingly
intricate. The theme was originally played by a single instrument, a cello, but Djawadi
subsequently added extra instruments.
