The UK nurses will be going on strike for the first time in the country’s record, to grant their request for good pay as the price of living sources in the European country.

On November 9, 2022, the trade union stated that the weight of run-states of (NHS) National Health Service workers around Britain has voted to strike.

However, The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) stated that the strike will be a major interruption to the already tired health system.

ultimate action will take place soon before the year’s end following the first strike vote in its 106-year-old record stated by RCN which has more than 300,000 members.

RCN General Secretary Pat Cullen said in reports;

“Anger has become action, our members are saying enough is enough.

“This action will be as much for patients as it is for nurses. Standards are falling too low.”

Many of the top hospitals in England will see RCN members go on strike, but others just barely fell short of the required lawful participation levels. All NHS employees in Scotland and Northern Ireland would be counted, and all except one in Wales satisfied the necessary legal requirements.

The health minister, Steve Barclay, called the development “disappointing.” In addition to a 3% wage increase last year, he claimed that even more than one million NHS employees have got salary increases of at minimum £1,400 this year and that 30,000 of the 50,000 additional healthcare workers planned to be hired by 2024 have already been hired.

Barclay stated;

“But union demands for a 17.6 per cent pay settlement are around three times what millions of people outside the public sector will typically receive and simply aren’t reasonable or affordable. Labour have also refused to back this.

“Regrettably, this action will mean some patients will have their treatment delayed. My priority is to keep patients safe during any strikes, minimise disruption and ensure emergency services continue to operate.”

While maintaining emergency treatment during strikes, NHS trusts are likely to postpone scheduled surgery. Health officials have stated that they are preparing for staffing levels akin to “bank holidays.”

This year, the UK has experienced a surge of conflict affecting a variety of sectors, including the law and railroads, as salary struggles to keep up with inflation, which is now running at 10%, and rising energy prices.

The strike action poses a serious danger to the health system, which is already feeling pressure from ongoing government inadequate funding, the COVID-19 epidemic, and a critical staffing shortage.

The administration wants to find a compromise between the “crucial role” provided by nurses and the budgetary issues the nation is facing, according to a representative for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who spoke to media earlier on Wednesday.

Since 1948, the NHS has offered free health insurance at the time of need, yet the number of people on hospitals waitlists has reached a remarkable seven million. The emergencies and accidents rooms are similarly overworked.
