Water availability in Bauchi has been hampered by power outages.

Due to widespread power outages, the amount of drinkable water accessible in Bauchi State has been cut from 60 million liters per day to 30 million liters per day.

Even if electricity is restored, the low voltage cannot power the Bauchi State Water and Sewerage Corporation’s pumping machinery (BSWSC).

Alhaji Aminu Gital, the Managing Director of BSWSC, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation.

He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Thursday that water scarcity was putting an estimated half of the city’s one million users in jeopardy every day.

He pledged that the company will work with the appropriate authorities to correct the problem.

Gital urged consumers to cooperate and understand the situation, particularly BSWSC’s registered customers and promised that the problem will be remedied shortly.
