Woman accused of killing and mutilating her landlady after she received a quit notice from her

A Chicago woman has been arraigned in the malicious murder of her landlord, who was found mutilated in a freezer.

The 36-year-old Sandra Kolalou, (pictured left), is arraigned with first-degree murder and hiding of a homicide in the death of 69-year-old Frances Walker, (pictured right).

According to authorities, Sandra was given a quit notice by the landlady before she killed her.

Residents inside the home where Francis rented rooms to people told police they heard screams around 2:30 p.m. on October 10th being Monday,

So they messaged Walker and got a reply but authorities revealed that the replies were sent by Sandra Kolalou.

On Wednesday, October 12, Chicago Police Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan said,

“The residents were very cooperative. When they heard the scream, when they woke up in the morning, they immediately started texting the victim … started calling the victim.

“The victim didn’t answer. There were some texts that were sent back from the victim’s phone. It appears from what we know now that the defendant was sending texts from the victim’s phone and not answering it.”

Police further revealed how they saw Sandra Kolalou walking toward a tow truck paid for by Walker’s credit card when officers arrived at the apartment.

She reportedly asked the tow truck driver to take her to Foster Beach where her car was so it could be towed, police said.

The other tenants said they were scared of Kolalou. The tenants were bothered about the driver’s safety, so they exchanged contacts.

However, when officers arrived at the beach, bloody rags were discovered inside a garbage can, authorities said. Walker’s residence was initially investigated by police, but no indication of foul play was discovered.

After bloodied rags were discovered, they searched the home again and found the remains of Walker inside a freezer.

Meanwhile, Kolalou was arrested soon after she was found with the tow truck driver, who police say she threatened with a knife.

The police on Wednesday said investigators believe she mutilated Walker on the first floor of the apartment with “large butcher knives.”
