Who is Zlatan?

Zlatan Ibile is a music vocalist and Nigerian hip-hop singer, songwriter, and dancer.  His real name is Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael but He is well-recognized as Zlatan and was born on the 19th of December 1994. He is the chief executive officer and founder of Zanku records

Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael (born 19 December 1994), recognized as Zlatan Ibile was born and raised in Ilorin Kwara State in Western Nigeria but hails from Ekiti State.

Early life

Zlatan Ibile was born and raised in Ilorin Kwara State in Western Nigeria where he spent most of his early life before moving to Lagos state, where he completed his secondary school education. Zlatan had a strong passion for football than any other thing including music, as many of his fans may have thought. He even wanted to become a footballer and he is also a passionate fan of the football champion Ibrahimovic Zlatan, however, this was what made him name his stage name Zlatan.

Having come from a poor family background Zlatan had to struggle to finish his secondary education. He even moved forward to his university education in Moshood Abiola’s polytechnic in Ogun state, where he studied business administration and obtained National Diploma (ND) in the course in 2011.

In meantime, Zlatan fully worked on his music forthcoming in his polytechnical days, which made him win the one-mic campus trip music competition organized by the telecommunication giant- Airtel Nigeria in Abeokuta Ogun state.

Amazingly Zlatan was just 19 years as of that time and at that same time, he started using the idea of making music. That could be said that education may have made his later career as a singer.

Awesomely Zlatan came from a family of perfervid Christian faithful, as his father is a pastor in Redeem Christian church of God. This means he and his siblings were raised in Christian ways.

Zlatan had both his primary and secondary education in Lagos state, having come from a poor family background Zlatan had to struggle to finish his secondary education. He even moved forward to his university education in Moshood Abiola’s polytechnic in Ogun state, where he studied business administration and he gained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration. Career

Zlatan decided to follow his music career after graduating from secondary school. When he was 19 years old, he won the Airtel-organized 2014 edition of the “One Mic Campus Tour” music competition, which was held in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He obtained awarenesses in the Nigerian music profession after he released the Olamide-assisted track “My Body” in 2017. In 2018, Lawrence Irabor, one of the co-owner of Alleluyah Boiz Entertainment sign Zlatan to their record label A.B.E. when he listened to the song Zlatan sang with Olamide.‘I Don’t Regret Signing Zlatan To A.B.E Records’ he said.

Zlatan obtained more publications following his teamwork with Chinko Ekun and Lil Kesh on the 2018 hit single “Able God”. Shortly afterward, he dropped “Zanku”, a song that was accompanied by a dance routine of the same name. Towards the end of 2018, Zlatan released the Davido-assisted track “Osanle”.^[17] In early 2019, he released “Glory” before being featured on Burna Boy’s “Killin Dem”, a track from the latter’s fourth studio album African Giant. Shortly afterward, he was featured on Ceeza Milli’s “Flenjo” and Naira Marley’s “Am I a Yahoo Boy”. On 26 July 2019, Zlatan announced he signed an endorsement deal with Coca-Cola.

On January 1, 2020, Zlatan took to his Instagram page to announce the launch of his record label ‘Zanku Records’ without no artists unveiled. Down to February 25, he celebrated his birthday while he announced the numbers and names of acts he signed. He listed three artists named: Papisnoop, Oberz, and Jamopyper, he also announced the official signing of a Videographer/Cinematographer named Visionary Pictures, his Manager Manager Jiggy’, his Music Producer Rexxie and a PR Consultant ‘Biesloaded’. He made this announcement with a picture of him and seven other people via his Instagram page.

Arrest and release

In May 2019, the EFCC arrested Zlatan and a few others in connection with an alleged case of internet fraud and money laundering.^[ A few days later, he was released on administrative bail.

In October 2020, during the EndSARS protest, Zlatan released “Soro Soke” to express his concern over the massacre of innocent youths at the Lekki toll gate
