Musician Ahmed Ololade, better known by his stage name Asake, was born on January 13, 1995. Millions of people who listen to Afrobeats like his music because of his incredible voice and memorable lyrics.

His breakthrough came with the release of his song “Lady” in 2020. After being discovered by YBNL Records boss Olamide, he shot to fame. Mr. Money was another song that helped him stand out more.

His first EP, titled Ololade Asake, was a commercial success all over the world, and it was published. When it comes to Street Pop and Afrofusion, he is a major player.

Early Life & Education

The Ololades welcomed their son Asake into the world on January 13, 1995. His parents planned a naming ceremony to honor his arrival into the world days after he was born. Ahmed Ololade was the name officially bestowed to him.

As a Yoruba, he is originally from that part of Nigeria. He and his family are native to Nigeria, namely to the metropolis of Lagos. He was born into a Muslim family and raised as a Muslim. His mom was a teacher and his dad was an entrepreneur while he was growing up.

Asake started his career in the creative sphere as a dancer. When he was a kid, he was into dancing and he was extremely excellent at it. Cultural dance was his forte, and he’d spend his off time perfecting his technique. As a high school student, he performed on school occasions, delighting his schoolmates and staff members with enthusiastic traditional dances. The moniker “Asake” was given to him because of his dancing.

Asake, a singer from the Yoruba tribe, was born in the late 1990s. He was born in a town in southwest Nigeria.

The gifted musician spent most of his upbringing in Lagos State. Even though he’s been making music since he was a teenager, Asake has just recently begun to make a name for himself in Nigeria.

He earned his degree in theater and performance from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Career

When Asake first began making music, he was only a kid. He would often post new freestyles on his various social media accounts.

In 2015, Asake made the decision to pursue music as a career. The popularity of artists like Olamide, Davido, Wizkid, 9ice, and Wande Coal inspired him to enter the Afrobeats scene and create music with an Afrofusion sound. To set himself apart from other musicians, he combines elements of hip hop, amapiano, R&B, and the fuji sound.

To begin, he was a member of Broda Shaggi’s band, singing backing at various events and gigs across the nation. 2019 saw the release of his song Star, a collaboration with Broda Shaggi. The success of the single exposed his ability to a wider audience. Boosted by his victory, he dropped Lady in January of 2020. Multiple social media personalities shared the track on their sites, and video producers licensed the song for use in their productions, propelling it to the top of the charts and making it a viral sensation.

The popularity of Lady allowed Asake to release Mr. Money, one of the most popular songs of 2020. He was dubbed “Mr. Money” when the song became a hit.

Omo Ope, Asake’s first song, was released the same year (2022). The tune quickly spread around the web. And this time it was heard by Olamide, a hip hop artist and executive. The track captivated the elder musician, so he decided to record a verse for it. Soon after, Olamide met with Asake and proposed signing him to the YBNL label. Asake accepted YBNL’s invitation and soon became one of the team. On February 8, 2022, he was introduced as YBNL’s newest member.

A short time later, Asake released his self-titled EP. Omo Ope, Sungba, Trabaye, and Baba God are four of the most popular songs on the album. In February of 2022, he participated in a live session hosted by Glitch Africa and played “Baba God.”

He worked on the Sungba remix alongside Grammy winner Burna Boy. The single debuted on March 28, 200, and has since spent numerous weeks at the top of the charts.

On DJ Spinall’s track Palazzo, he was a guest performer. On May 13, 2022, the single was officially released. TG Omori filmed and directed the music video for the track.

With “Peace Be Unto You,” released on June 16, 2022, he topped the charts (PBUY). Critics were mostly positive, and fans have streamed the song hundreds of times.

In 2020, Grace discovered him when one of his freestyles called “Lady” was reposted by several A-list celebs across various online platforms and became popular. Recordings of the freestyle, with Blaque Beats listed as the producer, became viral as soon as they were released.

Broda Shaggi, Sydney Talker, and many more helped boost the song’s popularity with dance and remix videos. Lady by Asake, who performed at the event, had a significant increase in its listenership as a result of the turnout.

Asake lives in a luxurious apartment complex in Lekki, Lagos, and is known for his collection of expensive cars and other exotic vehicles. Asake de-stresses by participating in sporting activities such as tennis, football, and snooker when he is not busy making music or performing at performances. In addition to that, he devotes a significant portion of his day to listen to music performed by other musicians.
