Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, the ex-governor of Anambra State, has unveiled that he would be willing to prostrate or kneel down before President Buhari so he can order the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and octogenarian elder statesman speaking in an interview with Arise TV today October 17, also said the leader of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Professor George Obiozor is making further plans to send a representative of Igbo elders to visit Buhari on Kanu’s issue.
This was said by Ezeife in response to the Appeal Court decision that released Kanu last week and the AGF’s (Attorney-General of the Federation) response to the decision.
In his words, Ezeife said,
“If President Buhari wants me to kneel down, I will kneel down. If he wants me to prostrate, I’ll prostrate just for Nnamdi Kanu to be released. Going to Supreme Court is a waste of time. Everyone in Nigeria is looking for a new Nigeria.”
The ex-governor further stated that the release of Kanu will ameliorate protests, agitation, and sitting-at-home in the South-East region. He also said the Igbo elders will give room for negotiation from the Presidency to ensure Kanu’s release and tranquility in the South-East.
