Peter Nwachukwu, the late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu of the ‘Ekwueme’ fame, has been detained by the Nigerian police.
After reportedly kicking her in the chest, Osinachi’s husband is suspected of being responsible for her death.
Immediately after her death, social media users speculated that she died as a result of domestic violence.
There are claims that the late Osinachi’s husband kicked her in the chest, which led to her being hospitalized, which were subsequently corroborated by her elder sister.
The spouse is also in arrest, according to the FCT Police Command, while the inquiry is underway.
Josephine Adeh, a police public relations officer, confirmed the late singer’s husband’s detention to the press.
“He has been taken into our custody.” The deceased’s younger brother reported the incident, and the FCT PPRO responded, “We have begun an inquiry.”
Furthermore, gospel musician Edwin Alex has stated that Osinachi died of throat cancer, while another singer, Frank Edwards, has implied that the singer’s death was caused by ‘some unreasonable person.’
Considering the outcry over her murder, Asu Ekiye, the President of the Fellowship of Gospel Music Ministers of Nigeria, asked for her husband’s arrest right once to ensure a thorough inquiry into the sensitive matter.
Gospel singers and preachers throughout Nigeria have also encouraged Nigerians to wait for the results of the autopsy on Osinachi Nwachukwu, the late gospel talent.

Ekiye, a prominent award-winning gospel singer, encouraged FOGGMON members to keep quiet about Osinachi’s death, which has sparked outrage until the inquiry is completed with an autopsy report.
He advised the gospel musicians to act in a way that would not jeopardize the inquiry.
Osinachi, 42, was a main vocalist at the Dunamis International Church and died on Friday in an Abuja hospital.
