In the Awgu local government area of Enugu State, unidentified gunmen raided and disrupted a Labour Party gathering.
An eyewitness reported that many people were injured as the gunmen shot sporadically at the party members.
Hon Chijioke Edeoga who is the Labour Party governorship candidate in the state confirmed the attack on the members.
Awgu – According to the report by The Nation newspaper, it unveils that political thugs attacked and disrupted a Labour Party meeting in Awgu local government area of Enugu state on Sunday, September 4.
In accordance with the report, the thugs, who were 20 in number, were armed with guns and machetes.
The video reveals the masked men damaging the canopy and cars sighted at the venue of the gathering.
Peter Obi, who happens to be the Labour Party presidential candidate had not made any statement concerning the incident.
