In Imo, gunmen kidnap 19 INEC ADHOC personnel, haul off BVAS and other sensitive materials

In the early hours of today March 18, officers of the law saved nineteen (19) INEC Ad-Hoc personnel who were abducted in Imo.

The 19 INEC Ad-Hoc staff were kidnapped when they were on their way to seven different polling units in Ugbelie ward 06 in Ideato South LGA of Imo state.

Chinenye Chijioke-Osuji, the spokesperson of the electoral commission in the state, said the kidnapped personnel was saved after they sent out a distress call.

She further stated that the kidnappers made away with election materials which include BVAS and other sensitive materials.
