Omale Ojima, well known as OJ Best, a young Nigerian shoemaker, has died.
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President, had welcomed the entrepreneur to the presidential home in Aso Rock and bought shoes from him.
Prior to that, OJBest had requested in a tweet that he provide the VP with a gift of his own handcrafted footwear.
The expert shoemaker was said to have gone to bed on Saturday, February 26, and never awoke.
He was transported to Abuja’s Kubwa General Hospital, where he was reportedly pronounced dead.
However, his sister, Comr Sofred Paul, who was at the hospital at the time, stated that he was unconscious while friends mourned him on social media.
She said on Facebook, “Please pray for my brother Omale Ojbest, still breathing.”
In an update on Sunday night, she announced his death.
“I may now upload your photos because he has just entered the morgue. We gave it our all, and we paid our final respects. Dear brother Omale Ojbest, may God embrace your sweet soul “she penned
“For the first time in my life, I stood next to a body, as if I were holding him, and prayed endlessly without fear? Life is what it is. You’d believe Oj was asleep if you saw him. Kai.”
Meanwhile, the dead had expressed his displeasure while watching a United match just hours before the news of his death began to circulate online.
“We should stop being delusional… Ronaldo is finished,” he wrote.
“Make I go play snooker forget this match jor,” he added.
