Divine Ikubor, a prominent singer and composer from Nigeria who was born on May 1, 2000, is one of a select group of musicians that are said to represent the Afrobeats genre’s future. Rema is the stage name of the musician and founder of the Afrorave subgenre.

His ascent to fame began after he was signed to Jonzing World, a division of Mavin Records, by A&R and talent manager D’Prince. Rema did not wait for the excitement around the success of his first EP to die down before releasing his follow-up effort, also in 2019, named Bad Commando. Songs like Bad Commando, Rewind, Boulevard, American Love, and Spiderman are included in the EP.
