The kidnapped Anambra native doctor, Chinedu Nwangwu, also known as Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki, has not been released, contrary to social media reports.
On Sunday night, Nwangwu was abducted from his hotel in Oba, Idemili North local government area and his two aides were killed by gunfire.
On the other hand, social media users assert that Nwangwu transformed into a lion and frightened his kidnappers, who then supposedly abandoned him and ran away.
Additionally, they asserted that he had since returned to his home and was being welcomed by locals.
The police, however, refuted the assertion, stating that security personnel were still working to secure his release and that there was still no word on the native doctor’s return.

The state police’s PPRO, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, stated, “I don’t have such information before me.”
