Sen. Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, claims that Nigeria has newfound hope as a result of his election and pledges to rule in a just manner for all.

In his acceptance address on Wednesday in Abuja, Tinubu made this clear.

After being named the election’s victor by the Independent National Election Commission (INEC), he spoke.

According to INEC, Tinubu won the race with 8, 794,726 total votes, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for president and Tinubu’s main rival, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, received 6, 984, 520 ballots overall, while Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party garnered 6, 101, 533 votes.

Former governor of Lagos State for two terms, Tinubu, expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their unwavering support of the nation’s democratic system and for choosing him to serve as their next leader.
“This victory would not have been feasible without you. I am thankful to Almighty God because I was born in Nigeria as a result of His mercy, and because of His supreme plan, I have won this race.

“May He give me the discernment and fortitude to steer the country toward the grandeur that He alone has planned for it.

“I appreciate the Nigerian people’s steadfast faith in our system. I promise to guide all Nigerians fairly.

In order to create a country that we can be proud of, Tinubu said, “I will be in touch with your goals, charge up your energies, and harness your talents.”

He pointed out that the mistakes made during the presidency and National Assembly elections on February 25 were sparse in number and had no bearing on the results.

The electoral process would be improved with each election session, Tinubu said in praising INEC for conducting a free and fair election.

“With each election cycle, we gradually improve this procedure that is so essential to our democratic life. Nigeria is now regarded as the continent of Africa’s giant.

“It shines even brighter as the continent’s biggest democracy. I am profoundly humbled that you have elected me to serve as the 16th president of our beloved republic.

“This is a shining moment in the life of any man and affirmation of our democratic existence, from my heart, I say thank you,” Tinubu said.

He thanked the Nigerian electorate for their participation and dedication to the country’s democracy irrespective of party affiliations, saying they voted for a better, more hopeful nation.

“You decided to place your trust in the democratic vision of a Nigeria founded on shared prosperity and one nurtured by the ideals of unity, justice, peace and tolerance. Renewed hope has dawned in Nigeria” Tinubu said.

He thanked those who supported his campaign from President Muhammadu Buhari to the party’s governors, its leadership and loyal members across the country.

The former two-term governor of Lagos State added that he owed everyone who contributed to his election a debt of gratitude.

He particularly thanked the party’s entire campaign council, his wife and family whose support he said was ceaseless and inspiring.

“To my fellow candidates, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, former Gov. Ibrahim Kwankwaso, of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and former Gov. Peter Obi of Labour Party and all others.

“I extend the hand of friendship. This was a competitive, high-spirited campaign, you have my utmost respect.

“Political competition must now give way to political conciliation and inclusive governance. During the election, you may have been my opponent, but you were never my enemy, in my heart, you are my brothers, Tinubu said.

Tinubu stated that anyone who disagrees with the election outcomes has the right to file a lawsuit, adding that using violence is neither justifiable nor right.

He continued by saying that any dispute to the results of the election should be brought before a judge rather than on the streets.

He urged his supporters to let tensions subside and peace reign, claiming that they conducted a morally upright, nonviolent, and progressive campaign.

Tinubu vowed to get in touch with any APC members who felt wronged.

“Let the finer qualities of our humanity emerge at this crucial time. Let’s start to mend and settle down our country.

“Now, I hear you loud and clear, young people of this nation. I am aware of your suffering and your desires for effective government, a running economy, and a secure country that will safeguard you and your future.

“I am conscious that for many of you, Nigeria has turned into a place of ongoing difficulties that have made it difficult for you to envision a bright future for yourself.

“Remodeling our precious national home requires the cooperative efforts of all of us, particularly the youth. Working together, we shall move this nation like never before,” Tinubu promised.

Together with Sen. Kashim Shettima, his vice president-elect, he said he knew the challenges that lay ahead as well as the talent and inherent goodness of young people and Nigerians in general.

“We promise to pay attention and take the actions that will place us on the path of unstoppable progress. Hold us accountable strongly, but first, please give us a chance.

Together, we will create a community that is brighter and more productive for the present, the future, and years to come. You have given me the highest honor you can grant to one man today.

In exchange, as your next president and Commander-in-Chief, I promise to give it my all. The cornerstones of the community we want to create are going to be peace, unity, and prosperity.

“You will speak with pride about being a Nigerian when you see what we shall achieve in the coming years,” Tinubu promised.

According to NAN, Tinubu will receive a document of return from INEC at 3 p.m.
